Got some helper springs from advance auto today. They were on sell for 29.99 down from 44.00. Went to put them on behind the axle. The u bolt would hit the frame. I put them on in front of the axle. The question is it ok to put them on in front of the axle. It seems to be ok on the short drive I took to Lowes. It stiffened up the spring. My goal is to have people stop flashing their lights at me when I tow my boat at night. Going fishing wednesday for the true test.

Morning bump. Also saw that it is hitting the retainer around the spring. May have to move it back some.

I have those same exact ones, at least I think I do. Mine fit fine behind the axle, and mine are on the retainer. No problems for me at all, where did your's contact the frame? I also have an under-leaf set on the front of the spring, the 2 together give me about an inch in height. How much did you tighten yours? The tighter you cinch it down the more that spring will act on your suspension.

The u bolt would hit the frame on the back near the bumper. I am going to spend more time with them to see if I can get them to fit better.
