I had an accident 3 weeks ago, adjuster shows up, inspects the vehicle, and we send it to the body shop. 2 weeks into the repair, the body shop tries to align the vehicle and the pass side frame rail is pushed back (between the wheels) 1.5" and it's totaled.

I've had my little '08 4x4, reg cab, 4 cyl 5 spd for three years. Insurance is being very fair but I'm disappointed that I won't be able to budget for a newer one. Looking like a Maxima for a few years. :(.

Hard to believe that this shot to the front right corner made a "pop dent" on the rear bumper from being pushed back.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
That sux man, beautiful truck too! If they don't shell out for a 2nd gen, I'd look into getting a clean 1st gen with low miles. Sure you will be more than happy with it. I love my 4 banger access cab, these are very stout little engines.

What happened?? I totaled mine about 3 weeks ago also and was shocked how much I got back from insurance. But, like you, sadly it's still not enough to buy a brand new one outright. I'm looking at 2012 trd sports and i'm still having to put down an extra $5k.

Ins has offered me $12.5k plus $750 in sales tax. I'd like a little more.

I was turning left across traffic w the light and an Infiniti G35 sedan hit me (ran light) at about 45 mph.

I'm getting a divorce and buying a house in the next 90 days. A truck is going to have to wait.

Doing a lot of research and it looks like I'm gonna buy a used Camry SE or XLE. Wife, soon to be ex, has a 2010 4cyl XLE we bought new. It'll get 35 mpg pretty easy on the highway.

Sorry to hear of all the bad fortune as of late. But, whatever doesn't kill you..

I've been driving an '09 corolla for the past three weeks and I'm actually enjoying whipping that thing around town. And it gets double the gas mileage I got in my truck.

Don't know what USAA is going to ask for the carcass. They sell pretty high here in KY. Can't part out anything. I am going to the body shop Monday to put OE radio back in and get head unit and amp.

I've had back problems for the past 5 years. Surgery 2 1/2 years ago made it worse. Wife's Camry power seat was/is one that I can actually bear sitting in for more than 30-45 minutes.

I can't believe I'm actually considering seat comfort as a top 5 in new car criteria.

    Middle age has arrived.
