I just bought a second ATV for my wife, buy my current trailer won't fit both of them. Has anybody ever put one in their bed and pulled one on a trailer? I have a 2010 TRD with towing package and from what I'm seeing I would be under payload and towing capacities. Just looking for an alternative to buying a $2k trailer....

How big at the ATVs? If you're talking a small 2wd 250, you'll be fine. If you both have 800cc + monsters, then you should get a bigger trailer.

Access cab with the 73 inch bed. One of my biggest concerns is neither will fit with the tailgate down so it will have to be open

You'll be fine and way under payload/ towing capabilities. Your only issue would be if you are a short bed, you may not be able to close the tailgate, which depending on your trailer, may cause issues while turning. You could get always stand the one in the bed up on end so the tailgate can close, just make sure you turn the fuel petcock off on the ATV.

    Long bed you'll be fine.

You answered too quick, you'll have to get creative if you want to close the tailgate

I have a 2012 4door with the short bed and I had a 400 in the bed and a 450 on a little trailer behind me and it towed fine. The only issue that I found was that anything over a 400cc is too wide to fit in the bed. The tailgate was down, but it didnt bother me at all. I found that as long as the front tires are less than 42.5 inches then you should be fine. I towed it through a few mountains and I didnt even notice it was back there. Good luck

I've had larger quads in my truck, just need to put the front tires up on the wheel wells. Just need to be creative some times. At one point I had my cousins tex 450 atv and my crf 450 dirt bike in my short bed. Wish I would've taken photos. That was a tight squeeze and a little sketchy

You'll be fine, just make sure to support the weight of the rear tires on the tailgate or it will Likely fold under the weight. The payload/towing your talking about isn't bad compared to what I've personally seen my truck/ others pull...

Yes, I put my 400ex in the bed (gate closes) and then tow the old man's Grizzly in the utility trailer. But, I wouldn't ever tow with the gate down. What type of wheelers are they? My 400ex is a race quad and isn't very big, most all utilities even in my long bed need to have the gate down in order to be hauled.

Now that I saw this, highly unlikely. I'd find a bigger trailer to haul those on. You can rent trailers pretty reasonable if you only need to use it for a short while.

OP, here is my setup, as you can see, my quad is tiny compared to the old man's. His barely fits in that little utility trailer.
