I use a combo with the TracRac and a Yakama rack. Having the Yakama bar with the length of the double cab helps. Lowes has the TracRac for 300.00 http://www.lowes.com/pd_117754-25338-270001_0_

I welded up some angles to extend the width about another 7 inches so I can fit my canoe and kayak on together.

Anyone have experience with the Thule Xsporter on a newer Tacoma (2013)? Only hauling boats on the weekends so want a rack that will have a lower profile when not in use, but the bed-liner/wheel wells are pretty intrusive. Thinking of cutting holes allowing the uprights to sleeve all the way down (pending it doesn't hit the tire), but cutting into anything on her makes me nauseous.
