    I've read mixed reviews of rackdoctor. I just replaced mine last week for the same reason. I went with OEM. My dad owned a shop and I witnessed too many failures with reman racks.

    Have you considered CVJ? They only use OEM parts to reman their rack and I think they give you some cash back if you send them your core. I've gotten CVs there and they are just like new.

    I just replaced mine on my 1st gen with an OEM rack from Camelback Toyota, a vendor here. Great pricing and Jorge helped out with the shipping. I also got my Energy Suspension bushings from Suspension.com
