As the title says, Is my frame bent? If so how bad? I haven't been able to inspect the vehicle too closely after all of this happened so I am asking for help in determining the severity of things.

I have the option to buy my truck back and I really want to but I am unsure if it is repairable and if it is how much would it cost just for frame machine time? If I get it back I plan to box the frame and strengthen it back up post frame machine. I am not looking to restore it to the street queen status that it once instead I would like to make it into more of a mild build/work truck/flatbed.

    THE GOOD
    1996 V6 reg cab
    164,000 miles
    5 speed
    Has a meticulous maintenance record
timing belt, water pump, idlers and tensioner, coolant flush, crankshaft seal, camshaft seals, valve adjustments, plugs, plug wires all within the last 8,000miles
    E-Locker equipped
    Bucket Seats and nice interior
    Stereo system with thunderform enclosure
    33x10.5 tires
    Manual hubs
    Tundra Coils and 5100s
    Fresh OEM boots on CVs

    THE BAD
Frame looks tweaked in the rear (or is it an optical illusion)
All-Pro Leaf spring destroyed on driver side from being rear-ended on the side
Box has a very small ding in it haha
One window out of the slider is broken
    Passenger fender destroyed
    Possible bent axle housing?
    Possible bent wheel?

Please give your educated opinion on what I should do. I really dug this truck when it was nice and still do...

Man, what happened? I'd say no it's not bent.

My stupid and uneducated opinion would be that yes, the frame will probably be bent.
Repairable? I couldn't tell ya. It looks like you could make a wicked LT machine with new fiberglass bedsides and front fenders.
Back to the frame, if you could sneak under there and snap some upskirt photos of her (showing the frame), then some smarter people than me will probably chime in with their assesments of the situation.
Sorry to see your truck get smashed. I hope everyone is ok. What happened? Tree fall on it?

I was rearended rolling up to a stop sign, rear end swung to the right from the impact (having the drivers side of the rear axle pushed ahead of the passenger side axle made it turn like a forklift) I couldn't correct got pushed 90+degrees, hit a curb, rolled over into a tree which stopped me from rolling more. I am just glad I hit the tree far enough behind the cab so it didn't crush down on me!

not even one lousy picture of the frame

the bed is no doubt fubar...

    But without seeing the frame...

I'll recommend a frame shop instead of guessing ;)

once you determine it isn't bent...

install a flat bed and call it good

That thing looks pretty Eff'd. If you could get it super cheap, maybe. Chances are it's going to be expensive to get all back together.

I wouldn't mess with it imo.

Hard to say about the frame.

I would "guess yes" ... because the way that the bed is positioned after the crash.

Even the "bed mounting bolts" did some "pulling & pushing" and that force (energy) had to go somewhere ...

I would hazard a guess from the pictures and your description of what happened and say that your frame probably is bent. Couldn't know for sure, as we cannot directly see the frame in these pics. Sorry this happened to you man- that's a hefty loss.

To return my truck to what it was before is out of the question. I guess I should stress that I only want to make it driveable again. I am not concerned about how pretty it looks. Besides the frame straightening I will be doing all of the remaining work myself to cut costs and I already have replaced the truck so no need to rush the repair. Does this change anyone's opinion? Thanks for all input!

    I'd get a professional opinion/measurements from a frame shop...
    but it's likely not bent...
at least not the main spars of the the frame...
but I'll bet those two "C" channel end rails may need some massaging.

I only say this after looking closer at your pictures...
The cab's rocker looks to be level and in line with the suspension ride height.
    Maybe you'll get lucky :)

I'd keep it if the frame's primary spars aren't fubar

    other then that...
If the cab is intact... is all you need :D

I would guess it's repairable to at least trail rig status. That is a really sweet truck though. I wasn't aware you could get a reg cab with a v6 and a locker, is that all factory?

I am sorry about your loss, such a beautiful truck. It was a 96 too :( :( :(
    Glad your ok though

How much to buy it back? If the frame is bent it still might be worth parting out then..."shiver"....scrapping.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't bent.

But impossible to tell in those pics.

Either way gonna cost a pretty penny to fix it.

For a toy cut up truck tho..if the frame isn't bad totally be worth it.
