My 07 taco has 165300km on it. Changed up spark plugs about 90000 but not the wires,an I just noticed compared to last summer seems like I don't have much get up n go anymore. Ill kno forsure next couple wks when I tow my boat 1000km. Cuz I kno when I pass someone use to have some punch n jump to 5000rpm. Now just climbs slow when I step on it. So just wondering what I might need to do.. I'm getting no different fuel mileage.

guessing that you have the 6cy, there is not much for tuning up on these. spark plugs every 30k, engine oil every 5k, and I do the air filter with oil change. that's in miles not sure of km intervals.

there is a valve clearance spec, but I've never heard of anyone attempting to adjust, let alone even check.

all other parts of the motor are just good until they fail, no plug wires, nothing.

K&n filter it is. N I just cleaned it out 2-3month ago it was winter here n don't think it should b clogged up with any dust n such. Thought plugs last about 60,000km??

Anyone here heard of using strictly oem plugs? I've been told best plugs to use are oem cuz there made for ur truck n will run best with theseall other platinum n stuff won't effect much. This info coming from a very known trust worthy mechanic....

yea the general consensus on here is that oem plugs are best. I know that's all I will ever run. im sure the high end plugs are fine, but im paranoid and have a habit of putting Toyota engineers up on a pedestal. like "they know way more than I do and put that plug in for a reason."

could have just been a choice based on manufacturing costs though lol

Clean your throttle body & MAF sensor. OEM plugs are what I use, work fine.

I highlighted it yellow. Just unplug, take 2 screws out, spray with either MAF cleaner or what I use Gumout carb cleaner, let air dry, reinstall.
