    I've been toying around with Plasti-Dip for a couple of months now on my silver 06' double cab. I've dipped my grille, dipped the rear chrome bumpers and did all 4 fender flares. I just came across some carbon fiber wrap that I'm wanting to use on the inside trim of my headunit and a/c -heat controls. And to make my truck more unique, I'm wanting to use the same vinyl wrap on my fender flares. Has anyone had good luck using this stuff or should I just stick with the plasti-dip?

    :confused::confused:

    I've got a buddy who used probably the same stuff in his sti on some of the trim. It looked pretty good. He didn't have to much in the way of issues with the install. Actually if you check out youtube for vinyl installations, there is a really good instructional video.
    I'm not a big fan of the carbon fiber look and would stay away from the fender flares. IMHO. However if you can make it look good, kudos to you.

    Vinyl has a hard time forming around some curves and staying stuck. Look into hydrographics to help with getting into all the tight spots. Click on my logo for some more info and pictures of what we can do. It's just a thought to give you more options.

    They don't look bad, I like the matte black look of it, but its way too similar to the base models IMO.

    Those look sick man!! If you were on the east coast I'd definently go that route. and I'd do the inside trim to match. I just cant do without my truck lookin like a beater for a couple weeks tho hahahaha and I'm sure you'd leave my wallet with nothing but lint and dust with that great quality looking stuff. Thanks for steering me in the right direction though

    When i had my honda i played with Carbon fiber vinyl wraps a little bit in the car.. Did both honda symbols, and under my single din cd player.. it wasnt too hard, but make sure you get good quality stuff and the kind that has an antiair bubble thing... Also have a hairdryer or heat gun, this will help you around corners and edges.. When i sold the car they hadnt peeled or anything and they were done for over a year... Good luck :)

    Hmmm...I have a base black reg cab so I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with them. As for your question, look into hydro coating for the interior..you can get any kind of design you want and it's really durable

    I appreciate it man. Its probably going to be the most cost efficient for me to go that route even though I'd like to have em hydrowrapped. and the quality of the wrap I'd get feels like the real thing with the woven patterns. as soon as i get it done, i'll post up pics.

    I agree... They look good but like you they do look like a base model truck. The one benefit... you can peel it off if you like. Wheels look good though!

    thanks man! initially thats why I did the plastidip bc it was a trial run to see how I liked it. But its pretty dang durable and havent had the need to peel it off yet. I eventually will just peel it off this summer and just rattle can em matte black and matte clear coat.
