That really sucks. I work with a guy that tore one of his achilles tendons twice playing football. He quit sports after the second time.

Sorry to hear about the injury, but you're fortunate to have the surgery scheduled so soon! You'll be back to 100% in no time.

    Best of luck.

    thank you!

i am VERY lucky...just happen to be a cancellation for tomorrow. I hear that people drive from far to have Dr.Irvine perform surgery, he is VERY hard to get in with. Hell, I am lucky he happen to be in the OR to come check me out in the ER and make the call

    That is a terrible injury!
I have a friend right now that is recovering from this also, it will be months to heal. Take the time to heal propperly you do not want to retear it pushing too hard.
    Best of luck rehabing.

Need any tips? I had achilles repaired among other things in December 2012 still doing PT now. Every surgeon is different and such but it was done and had to stay off no weight bearing for two months. Then min weight bearing with air boot and pt 3 times a week got back to work light duty in 1 April still doing PT till the end of June. If that gives you a time frame to think about.
