Hey everyone Im new to this forum. I have a 2002 double cab and I wanted to put some subs in it but have no idea where to start. I saw friends just put a sub box on the seat but I want more of a clean look. Any suggestions?

I have a sub box out of a late 90's or 2000's For Explorer. I don't have pics now though. I replaced the sub with an 8 inch Kenwood. It's decent... Also, look at the Kicker powered sub, very small, it looks like it would work well.

Silvercab04- I like that idea alto better. Im a bigger fan of 10's than 8's. Where did you install the amp? Does that box use a shallow ten or not? Thank you everyone for the responses. Anyone know how to turn the lights behind your guage cluster blue?? Thats my next item on the list

Has anyone built one that fits in the center floor behind the center console? I was thinking maybe a 1x10 enxlosure that was down firing or side firing there might work out ok, but haven't had a chance to mock up a design yet.

Thanks Tejasyota. I think im gonna go with what silvercab04 showed me the link to. That gives me a little extra room behind the seat to store whatever I may need. I just need advice on a good hitting 10 inch sub to put in that box. Thanks!

I see some really nice looking custom boxes on this thread, nice! This website caught my eye while researching sub boxes for my taco, but from the pics, the speakers look like they would be mounted way close to the seats and take up a ton of space. I'm also pretty sure you would need special "flat mount" speakers for this type of setup. I'm curious if the more air space you have in these boxes, the fuller sound or thump you will have. I'm no audiophile expert so I have no clue as to what these type of ratios should be.

For a true "sub" woofer, you need size (10 inches or larger) and volume from the sub box.
My box behind the seat is what I consider a woofer box.
It does NOT have the heavy hitting feeling you get from a true subwoofer box.
It is good enough to be loud and the sound is fair.
