I'll be honest and say that it doesn't really light my fire. I prefer the sound of Toon's turbo 4.0 over that for sure.

I have yet to hear a turbo'd 4.0 in person so i've got no reference but I bet it sounds nice :D

Something about the straight 5's and 6's have always perked my ears.

Up to the 2006 year the I5 had some serious aluminum head issues. They changed the motor in 2007, added some extra hp, pretty solid motor after that. I had zero engine issues with the 2007 I5 I owned.

I do miss the get up and go the in-line 5 produced. The I5 is a high strung beast; the truck would move once you got the rev’s up. Always wanted to try one with a manual gear box, I think it would have been fun.

BUT for towing and off road capabilities, no question V6(torque), Tacoma all the way IMO.

I had an 06 that had to have the head replaced. It is still in the family and running strong though with over 100k on it. No problems since.

I'm pretty sure the i5 is a Saab engine that Chevy used, my Colorado was ok, wasn't the engine that was shit, it was everything else. I don't feel like it had as much nut as my Tacoma does.
