Not sure- I either want to get another 1st gen, (but 4wd instead of 2 like mine) an old Yota pickup, (84-87 or so) or I might even pick up some more Hondas- I'd like to get ahold of an 89 Civic Si and a 91 CRX Si.

If anything in the near future it'd be a 2014ish Forrester or Imprezea wagon with the 6 speed manual.

I miss the manual and would appreciate the AWD, stick, reliability, and cargo room.

I have had 7 tacomas and I have never had a problem selling them for high book after I was done with them, low maint costs and I will for sure be buying one as soon as they come out with a 3rd Gen

I voted yes... I plan on waiting for the 3rd gen to come out, then picking up a nice low mileage '12 or '13 for cheaper. :D

This is my second 2nd gen in a row. When the time comes, I may try something else. As I'm getting older, I find myself wanting more of those extra's that everyone is arguing about in another thread. But........you never know.

Well, I recently traded in my '06 4x4 regular cab Tacoma for a loaded ccsb '13 F-350 with powerstroke, so no, the vehicle after my Tacoma is not/was not going to be another Tacoma. I couldn't get past the rust issues that were becoming an issue on the '05 and later trucks like the previous generation, regardless of the buy-backs or high resale.

^^ i’d hate to see a hybrid. also from what i have read about them. idk how you would get the torque or power needed to do any good towing or hauling. But maybe they could. Also probably would suck off road, crossing creeks or going thru deep mud.

The whole concept of hybrid technology is the gas engine runs when needed ( power , towing ) and the electric system runs / generates when the gas engine isn't needed , or with KERS technology , electric energy can be introduced along side the gas power

This is a gas / electric KERS equipped hybrid that manages decent power and torque

    I voted no.

My wife will get the next car - I'm planning to keep the Tacoma for a long time. So unless something happens to it, I'll buy a fun car of some sort next.

Off the top of my head, I would say that if I move from the Tacoma, it will be to an FJ.

But, that's probably years down the road, so ask me then.

I am undecided at this point, I drive 70 miles a day to and from work so MPG is a concern I have now unlike I did in 2008 when I bought my taco (gas was a bit cheaper then). It is really nice not having a car payment right now. :bananadance:
