I have been looking at all the forums on tacoma world for offset and backspacing on rims. I wanted to make sure I'm getting the right rims. I'm getting the fuel throttle 17x9 rim. I wanted to fit Hankook dyna pro atm 265/70/r17 on them. I have a 2011 Tacoma Sr5 prerunner. I would like to have the wheels stick out about 1/2" to an 1" out of the fender to give it more of an aggressive stance. Would I be better off going 265/65/r17 to avoid any rubbing. Thank you for your help.

I haven't ordered the wheels yet. Need to know what offset and backspace to look for so there is no rubbing.

4.5 BS is ideal for our trucks. Wont have any issues. Offset... closest to 0 is best.. but I run -12 and will be soon running -15. Tires will be why you rub. Rubbing is also easily fixed as well. Minor trimming. A cab mount chop to alleviate any remaining problems... and done.

What does the offset determine how far the wheel sticks out? I see a lot of people running a -12. Will a 0 offset make the wheel stick out more then stock? Whould I be better off running a 265/65/r17 or is it pretty safe that a 70 won't rub? Thanks for your help!

The offset is determined by backspacing/wheel width. A -12 offset on a 9 inch wheel is a 4.5 backspace

The two offsets that they offer are +1 and -12. With back spacing of 4.5, 5, 5.5. What one should I go with?

4.5BS and -12 offset. I ran that exact same thing. No issues.

My new wheels I just had put on yesterday are 4 3/8th BS and -15 offset. No issues there either.

This. The tread will stick out about .5" past the fender with a 265 wide tire, with sidewall buldge, youre looking at .75-1". Either tire should be good with no rubbing and that offset. The 70 high may rub mudflaps and rear fender at full flex, but very little.

Also, backpacking is 100% directly related to backspacing and rim width...on an x9 rim, -12 BS can only have 4.5 BS

This may be useful... Factory rims (TRD OR) are 16x7.5 with a +32 offset.

How much trimming did you have to do upfront?
