I have been running OME shocks and 885x for about a year now on my 06 AC. I am fabbing a plate bumper and winch, so need to add a little heoght to compensate.

Wheelers kind of talked me out of going to an 886 spring suggesting even with the bumper and winch (synthetic line) the spring rate may be too stiff being an AC. I bought their 13mm top plate spacer instead.

Instead of the .75" I was expecting, I got 1.75"!!! My cvs are way out of whack and boots rubbing on eachother badly.

What did I screw up? Why so much lift!!?

885x only hub to fender: 23.25"
    885x + .5" top plate: 25"

I think he was expecting .75" from the spacer.

The spacer should give a little bit closer to 1" but no more. Did you drive the truck bit to let the suspension settle? Or did you install the lift and tires and than measure with out driving it?

    The better coast
Also think i've seen access cabs run 886's, but you need a plate bumper to do so or you will get to much lift.

I think the only people who need to worry about "to much lift" from springs would be the regular cab guys...

Yes, I was expecting .75 from the spacer, not overall.

I did not drive the truck. It has a cardboard bumper right now lol. I jounced the shock several times and let it sit over night. I dont expect it to settle another inch. The springs arent new, so they are settled.

If you haven't driven it or at least moved it a few feet since the install that's going to be your issue and you won't have an accurate measurement until then. The tires are keeping the suspension from settling to ride height.

x2 vehicle needs to be at least rolled back a few feet after you set it back on the ground to allow the tires/suspension to unbind and sit properly.

Yup, your right. I honestly did not expect it to make that much a difference considering I bounced the suspension and it sat over night. But it did. I drove it down the driveway and up the street and I am now sitting at 24.25" exactly 1" higher, where it should be. This will settle some more Im sure, with the weight of the bumper and should work out just right. Thanks.

lol, its cut out of cardboard to check measurements before cutting the pieces out of steel and welding the winch bumper. It will look better in steel, I promise :)
