Whats with the hood scoop anyway?

    3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
    It's seems like it would be less aerodynamic? Especially with the opening facing forward. As a kid and growing up around classic cars I thought the scoops were for bigger carbureators and to have a bigger air filter which allowed in more air because of the scoop? I never really figured that one out:confused:

    But nowadays I'm sure they serve more for looks than functionality. Who cares, they look AIGHT:cool:

    Very few skewps have been functional since 1975.
    Some were simply a disguised blister to clear a turbo, but most have been purely cosmetic.

    Even before 1975, many skewps were not open 24/7... they were opened and closed based on throttle position using exposed or internal doors.

    The scoop is in a low pressure zone.
    The CAC is always in front of the AC condensor.

    I might be retarded but what do you mean by CAC? Im assuming intercooler.

    Ever seen an STI or turbo II FC RX7?

    and yeah, everyone that wants to make real power with an STI or 13B converts to a front mount cooler because it's more efficient (like you said).

    Yep. Notice the skewp is off-center.

    Partially because those cars don't have room in the front end for a larger V-mounter intercooler. Shorter distance between the intercooler and intake manifold is preferable.
