I'm new to TW but have been scanning it for quite some time for info. I think I already know the answer to this but I would like to get some different opinions. I have HBS 2.5 spacers on the font of my '07 right now and would like to get them off as soon as I have the money. I have heard some people say that cranking the 5100 Billy's to 2.5 is a bad idea on stock springs but is it still a better option than to keep running the spacers?

5100s are better than spacers. There's just things you need to be aware of. Your springs will be stiffer because they are compressed, so a little bit more of a harsh ride.

Most people experience, (myself included) once you go up to 2.5" your caster will be out of whack which makes the handling a bit less than the factory ride. New adjustable upper control arms fix this issue.

Thanks for the input. That's a great looking rig. Where did you get the "TOYOTA" grill?

Are the caster/alignment issues worse with 5100's? Seems like from what I've read is that some have caster issues and others are fine. I have a 3" spacer lift now and have 5100's sitting in the garage waiting to go on. If I don't have alignment issues with the spacer, is it safe to assume I won't with the billies either? Just trying to figure out if I should wait to put them on until I can get some UCA's

Yea that's a great point because I have had my spacers on for several months now with no steering issues. About as off road as I go are the rough ass trails to our hunting camp so that could have something to do with it.

I went from spacers to the billies with stock coils on my 07. I did not replace the UCA's and I have no alignment issues whatsoever. I was running 285/60/18 with both spacers and billies. No rubbing before, no rubbing after.

I've been running Billies at 2.5" with stock UCA's on my 07 TRD for 5 years now with no problems. Running 285/70R17 MTZ's. I'd definitly say the 5100's are a better lift than spacers IMO.

Thanks. I think I found it on ebay. It's from the old Toyota Landcruisers.

I'm not sure, but it would seem if you don't have problems with the spacers then you wouldn't with the 5100s. You could put the 5100s on and see how everything aligns.

It seems some people have no caster issues after raising. I'm curious about this. I wonder which trucks don't have issues.
Mine is an access cab offroad and I have issues. What do you guys all have?

I have 5100s at 2.5 and my alignment was close to spec. The only thing I notice is the drifting at high speeds on the interstate. Other than that no issues

My truck is an 07 DCSB TRD Off Road. Never had an alignment problem at 2.5" lift. Truck is nice and straight with no pulling either.

I'm liking these answers, can't wait to install the billies! My truck is an 06 access cab 2tr. I'll post results in a few weeks when I have time to put them on

Same here. I can't wait to get my 5100's and rid of the spacers. I do think I want to get a newer set of stock coils to put them on though...my coils currently have about 120k on them. Anyone have any low mileage stock coils to fit a '07 Prerunner? If I'm not mistaken, the stock TRD coils will work as well. If anyone has any and is willing to ship PM me. I am interested.
