I got in my truck today and it doesn't go into gear. My check light and airbag light is on and my blinkers don't work? I don't know what is going on. All this happened in one day. Strange. Please advice were to start looking? I'm trying to avoid dealership.

Oh shit... Get it checked out, find a buddy who has a scanner if you don't want to go dealer route just yet.

    I don't blame you.

Check all the fuses in the dash fuse panel - Ig1, Ig2, and Stop to be exact, I take it by "doesn't go into gear" you mean its stuck in park?

Sounds like it could be one of the main ecu fuses under the hood

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on a bad fuse. I have to use a pin to press down the button by shifter to put in gear till I figure it out.

If it is a fuse, great. But chances are, you'll blow another fuse too. Don't put a higher amp fuse in either.... New fuse, it may happen again, then find your problem.

    +1

If a fuse is blown, there's a reason for it.
what was the last thing you did that involved the electrical system?

Those are relays. The big fuses have the clear tops so you can see the fuse element.

So for the record. The IG1 fuse inside is the fuse to fix. Now I just got to figure out how to take check engine light off.

You can reset the check engine light your self I would still run over to autozone and get them to hook up the computer to see if the truck is throwing error codes. How you reset the light should be in your owners manual if I recall.

EDIT: there is a way without disconnecting your battery you hold the odometer pin I cant remember the actual process. There is 1000 ways to skin a cat.

IG1 fuse was bad? I'm glad you found your issue! Replace it and call it a day if it doesn't pop. Now if it does pop, you're in trouble.
