I completed my Grillecraft MX Series upper and lower grill kit install yesterday. Here's a couple pics.

    Awesome job....it looks great!

One question: Did you have to do much bondo work or just cut and install?

Looking to do the same to my '13 and it looks like I'll have some serious bondo work after cutting out the center of the stock grill. Any pics of the process?

Nice. I like grillcraft grills. Not a particular fan of the big "TOYOTA" in the middle tho. I figure they got our money when we bought the truck, and they can spend their own money on advertising.

You don't need any bondo work. Just cut out the middle part, drill 6 3/16th holes and you're done!

    Yup.

I purchased a 2012 grille and grille surround from a TW member that was already cut in preparation for a Satoshi job that never got finished.

Made the job real easy and I still have my original grille to use for whatever.

I like it better than I thought I would. And as a bonus, there seems to be a definite lack of any modded grilles in my area, so it's pretty rare.

The only problem is every time I improve the exterior, the stock wheels look worse and worse.......

For some reason the Toyota "T" symbol just gets under my skin. Looks like two chrome plated dog turds forming a T, Lol. I replaced my T center caps with TRD center caps, lost the T grille emblem. The only dog turd T left on my truck is on the horn pad and I've got plans for that one too. I guess part of it is I am old enough to remember Toyota trucks that pre-date the current Toyota emblem, so that's what I like to see. I have no doubt the current emblem took years to design and cost millions and has some deep seated symbolism associated with it, still hate it.

If I wasn't hell bent on getting rid of it, I'd probably would have stayed with the stock grille.

Great looking work! The TOYOTA symbol turned out great. Tried to color match mine to the truck and it was an epic fail. How did you secure it to the grille?

I cut off all the tabs on the back with a dremel and used 3M Plastic Emblem and Trim Adhesive.

I used blue masking tape to tape off exactly where the emblem should be positioned and then loaded the back side of the emblem up with adhesive and taped over it and let it set for a couple hours.

Seems to be on there pretty good.

Looks great. Wish I could find a 2012+ MGM grill so I could start this mod for my truck.

Nice job, OP. I owned an upper/lower grillcraft previously on my current truck and a previous one. I recall the finish in particular was extremely durable, more so than simple powder coat. In fact, when I traded the previous truck in w/ the 10-yr. old grillcraft, it still looked great:D

Do you need the color matched surround, the actual grill or the whole setup?

Never mind...I see you have an Off Road so you must have a chrome grill surround. I'm slowly learning.....
