I had been bantering back and forth with the assistant editor at 4WD & Sport Utility for a while trying to get them to come and do an article on a camping trip/get-together we have been doing the past 5 years in Michigan's Upper Penninsula. He basically said "Can't afford it. You write it!" Well I did and they liked it enough to publish. The Sept. issue hit the newsstands about a week ago. With further discussion I have came up with some mroe ideas they liked for articles too.

Great man! I'll pick up a copy and I hope you are able to continue to contribute. You should get your buds (TW and otherwise) to support you with letters to the editor.

On a related note, a good friend writes a column for a major automobile magazine while he is not paid well for the actual articals he does have some great fringe benefits. It took him a while but, he can pretty much pick up a phone and drive about any car for a given period of time and certain vendors/supplies/manufactures pay for him to have some great (paid) working vactations such as the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show.

I could see you at least working out some off road "tools".

Thanks guys. I will be getting more material for a couple future articles in a couple weeks hopefully.I may end up peddling them to another mag possibly.

They ended up sending me a TON of copies of the issue too!
