OK guys, I'm sure this has been beaten to death somewhere but to be quite honest, I have already read a bunch and I'm not even sure how to start searching for advice on my particular situation.

I picked up an 05 DC TRDS on Monday. When I got it, he had the spacers for a leveling kit (Upper and lower spacers). I am assuming this will allow me to use the stock coil and an extended strut to achieve lift. I have a friend that runs an auto parts store and can get shocks for me cheap. I know the Bilstein 5100s are popular but I guess my questions are:

    • What brand/model shock would you use?
    • Would you use a AAL to lift the back or replacement springs?
    • If an AAL, which one? My fear on AALs is they will make it ride like a tank.
    • What am I missing to complete the lift? (extended brakes lines, etc.)

My goal is to get the best value lift I can balancing ride, functionality, and of course cost. For example, if spending a little more on Dakars will net me significantly improved ride or performance, I'm willing to do that.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate any and all input!

    5100 front and rear....
    Icon progressive aal
    Ditch the spacers
Use proper omw coils to achieve lift u want.
    Maybe new UCA
    Cheap but effective

It really depends on what you are going for...IMHO
Mine is my Wife's DD & we aren't doing any crazy wheeling so I went with a 3" Cornfed spacer in the front and a Toytec 2"AAL in the rear(I had a 2" block for the rear but scored the AAL from a fellow TW member for a set of stockies)

    Thanks for the responses everyone!

So from your recommendations, this is what I got off DSM's site:

    • Front & Rear Bilstein 5100 - $310
    • OME 885 Coils - $190
    • Icon 3 Leaf AAL - $215
Their website also mentions additional discounts so the total of $715 may be even less. While I would love to go ahead and install UCAs now, my budget says no. :)

I do have a couple of additional questions:

    • I read that the length of the Bilstein 5100s limits down travel. Is that an issue with them or with any shock that does not have a remote reservoir?
    • Are extended brake lines required for this amount of lift or will the stock cables work?
Thanks again for all your help!
