I need to replace a front bearing on my 06 Pre.
The problem is that prerunner use the 6 lug hubs, like an an 06 4x4, while regular 2WD use a 5 pattern.
Do I buy 4x4 hubs and bearing assembly?
Or 6lug hubs and 2wd bearings?
    Any other thoughts or advice?

I just ordered rear wheel bearings for my 4x4 from partsgeeks.com (cheapest after extensive searching) they specify application on their website for the different tacoma models. Eg. Prerunner, 2wd, or 4x4. Check them out.

If I have an extra hub with new bearing already pressed in, I can do the job in less time and w/o the press. Then get the old hub fitted with a new bearing assembly, which would then be on standby till the other front wheel bearing goes. I appreciate the help but there is a way to do this I just need to know if 4x4 front hubs and bearing would work on a 2x4 prerunner. Im fairly certain the answer is yes but fairly don't mean much.

4X4 bearings are identical between the Prerunner 6 lug, and the 4X4 Base Tacoma 6 lug. However you can't properly use the 4X4 assemblies on a prerunner because of the way the bearing and hub assembly is held together. They are held together in two different ways.
