Ok so my 5100's should be here Friday . I have been reading through countless post and have done a ton of searching but I seem to keep getting different answers. I have a 2013 and only have 2500 miles on it right now. I was going to just set the front at .85 to make it more level. Doing more research I am thinking about doing a 1.5 inch aal and setting the bilstein's to 1.75. I see most people say that is no problem but some say they get vibes at 1.75 with aal. I want to keep my ride as close to stock as possible. So at 1.75 with an aal would I get vibes? Also is the 1.75 setting too hard on stock parts like cv's and uca's? I have a access cab 4 cyl 4x4 I don't have the tsb done.

    You'll be fine at 1.75.

Badgers, I don't need no stinking Badgers.
I just put 4 / 5100's on my new 2013 dcsb 4x4 set the fronts at 1.75, didn't touch the back yet, it's sitting level/bro lean right now. I had the shop align it three times to get it right. Right now it's

    Lft/Rght
    Camber .05/.06
    Caster 2.0/1.6
    Toe .11/.12

But I am still unhappy with the camber. I really want 0/0 for tire wear. Do you think I should go back again? Or go somewhere else? Or just live with it?

Oh and it rides much better with the5100

My 5100's came in today. I'm going to try to get them put on tomorrow. I have decided to go with the .85 setting. I will post some pics after they are on.

I'd be going back. They should be able to get your camber closer to 0, your caster evened up and your toe closer to 0. If you feel that the shop is willing to take care of you and your truck, go back. If not, I would look into another shop.

    Too few to list.
You'd be fine at 1.75" setting. CV's look good at that setting as well and alignment shouldn't be a problem. As for the rear, it's a hit and miss for vibes with people. Be sure to get a CB drop to prevent vibes.

Getting my 5100s on today finally. They have been sitting in the spare room for a couple weeks. Setting them at .85. I will post up before and after pics later

Diffinitly would like to see pictures. I was thinking of getting them as well and also setting at .85. Just to avoid any of these issues about alignment. People say you would be fine with the 1.75 but then most are unhappy with their alignment. I just want to add alittle and be done.

Are you using the stock springs and UCA's.

I would not agree that "most are unhappy with their alignment" at 1.75. I was fine at 2.25.

That said, there are different reasons for lifting a truck. I would suggest doing some research and knowing exactly what is going in when you change things on your vehicle and then doing it right the first time by making your truck applicable to where and in what scenarios you will need it to perform.

If its solely for looks, do what you want.

1.75" & 4 Factory leafs in the rear. Alignment came out fine, Truck is level, truck rides better than smooth.
Just measure your center hub to fender front & rear...that is what will change when you add your 5100s and a possible AAL.

    Good luck

I have read some threads where guys are having issues with the vehicle stability control system after installing a lift.

Rear TSB, Biltsein 5100's set at 1.75
I have a 2010 access cab 4cly. 4x4 and just put on 5100's yesterday at 1.75". Got the allignment done, but was not happy with the numbers. I have a thread going now about that. Also, I use my truck as a daily driver (100mile commute) a day. I though I liked the stiffened up ride until I drove it to work and back today. On the highway, crossing over passes and joints in the road are "jarring". I came home and just removed the 5100's and am setting them to .85. I will let you know "my oppinion" on the ride once I get them back on and take another trip. I am also curious if my allignment numbers can get better as well with the lower lift setting.

I have the rear TSB and my only purpose for the 5100's was to level out the front some. I know everyone is different, but with my AC 4cly. 4x4 the ride was too harsh at 1.75".

You may want to consider an aftermarket coil in front thats longer & a little softer, your preload is whats giving it a harsh ride....:)

Agreed. I will try the .85 setting first (less pre load) and see if that improves the ride enough for my taste. If not I will look into other options; like new coils... Trying to make it work on the cheap first.

What coil do you recommend that would give the same lift height as the .85 setting and have a soft ride. I have a 2011 trd off road . I understand that my coils are progressive coils. would they ride too stiff at .85? I am just wonting to level it !
