    08 double cab taco v6 sr5 4x4 sport.

Yesterday my vent selector was stuck between defrost and floor while putting a small amount of air out the front. Swith position made no change. Hot or cold worked and fan speed worked.

Today I pull the cabin filter (soaked) and they try the selector again. Works fine.

Problem isy floor on the passenger side is wet. Floor mat and floor. Pull things apart and find it pooling under the tubing for the rear passenger ac vent.
Put hose on all over the windshield area ect trying to make it show itself and nothing.

It is not antifreeze )clear not pink.
And we have had a lot of rain the last two days.

    Ideas?

Not liking the musty carpet smell.

    Thanks

^^This ^^. I would also look about leaks from the plastic between the hood and window. Those have been known to leak.

Smells just like the wet cabin filter. Musty. No oily texture. The antifreeze in mine is a pink color too which makes it easy to spot.

Wondering if with the crazy sudden and massive rain we got over the last two days caused it to over flow the fresh air intake and run down into the air box the. Out the rear passenger floor vent.

Might be something blocking to drain inside the heater box, try gently poking a ziptie, piece of electrical wire, toothpick, twist tie, etc up into there to clear any blockage. Be prepared for a lot of water to come out when you do this.

^^^ Also sometimes the drain hose for the ac can come undone inside of the box. Sometimes this rarely happens but is possible if poking something long into the drain hose or very gently blowing with compressed air doesn't work.

Towel and hair dryer dried the carpet. Not sure what caused it outside if shutting the truck if and leaving it in defrost which from what I read allows air (water) to come in the fresh air vent.

Love all the answers...for which none will explain the wet cabin filter. And to think you answered it yourself!

Now for the cause of it coming in...
    a. cowl drains are clogged, or
    b. too much water for the plastic cover below the windshield to redirect the water away from the cabin air intake. I had it happen a couple of times, so I fixed it permanently (see the cabin air intake cover link in my sig as to how I fixed that problem)

Had the same problem with the passenger floor getting damp. I did have a new windshield put in 6 months ago so I checked out the cowling under the windshield and the drain holes around the windshield wipers. The one drain on the passenger side
wiper was plugged--who new that was there? I also liked the idea of covering the
air vent with some flashing, seeing how my filter was damp and covered with pine needles, leaves and spinners. Bring on the rain
