High school kid at my shop made this his first vehicle. 2006, just over 80,000km (50,000 miles). Never winter driven.
Had his heart set on an Explorer Sport Trac Adrenaline, but insurance would've killed him. I suggested one of these.
"They're fun to drive, nice looking, and insurance doesn't know any better."
Next thing I know, I'm getting pictures texted of some truck because one of the halves of the front spoiler was smashed off.
"How much would it cost to fix this?"
"I don't know! Probably $500."
"Ok. I'll see how much he'll knock it down."
Turns out, he talked the guy down $1000 just for the damage!
He's already quizzing me about mods, so off to a good start.

I'm still on his case to join the forum, so we'll see...

Also, he will drive a beater for wintertime, so the xr should remain nice for a long time!

 

Too nice of a vehicle for a HS kid imo.. Gonna tear it up and or drive like an idiot.
