so first of all, there is a hardware issue with the truckpc. not sure what but i'd guess it's the ram. don't feel like digging deep enough to figure it out so i formatted my arch linux install on my alienware m17x and put ubuntu in place of it. got mopidy all downloaded and installed and then started looking into the different mpd's i could use.
an mpd is basically the front end for the player, in case you were curious.
and let me tell you, getting the two to work isn't easy.. or maybe it is for the right people but i guess with me never doing anything like this before and there not being much on the subject, it's fairly difficult to accomplish.

i chose rompr as the mpd, it seems to have a lot of features and already has mobile browser support.
as of right now i'm at a brick wall trying to get the two to communicate.

Okay got it working. Went with another web client, though i feel confident i could have gotten the other one to work as well, which i may go back and do later on.
Don't have it reading my local database correctly, but it loads spotify stuff perfectly fine and will look great on mobile.
    this client is called "Mopidy-WebClient"
