Rookie question about exhaust tip

I have a '13 DCSB with TRD Sport Package, stock exhaust.

I want to put a new tip on it just to give it a better appearance. I'm considering this one:

    http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Toyot...UTF8&colid=AHPLVAYVM2HK&coliid=I1ZXR5E86XXV6C
    PT18A-35090

It's available elsewhere for $48, but they're charging $13 shipping, so I'd prefer to buy from Amazon for only a couple dollars more.

My question is... do I have to cut the end of the stock exhaust to use this? The stock exhaust pipe has a small diameter a foot back than it does at the end. Does this tip just bolt on to the bigger diameter part of the exhaust? Roughly how far on does it slide? I do not want something that is going to stick out a whole lot farther than stock... I'm also a little afraid of cutting the pipe because I do not want to change the sound.

It states that it is bolt on. Chances are you won't have to modify anything and it will just bolt on.
Yota Lover: The guy is on here asking a legitimate question because he doesn't know the answer. Why do you have to try to belittle him? To be quite honest instead of making him look stupid it makes you look like the jerk. I see quite a bit of this type of behavior on this site. If you can't help why don't you just keep your opinions to yourself. Kidding or serious it is uncalled for.

Agreed  This idea that we can belittle someone sheds more light on us than them.

TNReb: to further answer your question. If I had to guess, I would say it probably slips over the existing exhaust pipe,so you could most likely position it as far out or in as desired. I could be wrong but in past experience that is how these exhaust tips install. Worst case (which I doubt) it would have to be tack welded in place. Which would be a very cheap and quick welding job and most likely anyone with a home welding unit could handle the job.

BLM - it says it's a bolt-on tip in the product description on Amazon.

OP - you slide this over the standard exhaust pipe to whatever position you want, and then you tighten the bolt of the exhaust tip so it clamps onto the existing piping, keeping it friction tight.

FWIW, you mentioned nothing that the bolt-on tip he linked to was in fact bolt-on, you suggested that most mods of that type are bolt-on, which isn't particularly helpful.

95% of TW posts would be negated by someone typing something into Google than into a TW thread. We have people asking how to/what's the best way to remove stickers.. so I see your point. The internet has made a large part of society to be pretty much inept at rationalizing and problem solving down to the simplest things you can think of.

That said, I've been an asshole when responding to odd questions also, so ignore my points also.

x2. I'm sure you had similar type questions when you were newer to it. It is no different than if he went to a store and asked the questions. This forum is for Toyota enthusiasts who are willing to help other members. My attitude towards you is, if you don't want to help or assist other members, then gtfo.

Edit - Oh goody you're banned.

I have the SAME tip. It is bolted on using a provided clam, no cutting at all. If you want to see it on the truck I can take pics for you.

It looks quite nice though but I love the look and sound of the REAL TRD system.
