I admit that I haven't looked through all of the threads, but I was wondering if anyone can tell me what these wires are for? I was cleaning my truck the other day and they slipped out on the driver side of the center console.

    Thanks in advance..

Can you get a picture further back? Did you buy it new or used?

    Possible. :notsure:

OP, do you have a TRD package on your Taco? IIRC, the inverter had a purple wire running off of it, going to the outlet. Buy used? Maybe someone tapped into it?

Seeing your new pics, I see you have the power inverter. I bet it was tapped into. Pretty easy to take the console out. I'd open it up to see where they go.

If it was tapped into, what would you use it for?

Power source. You can tap into it and install an outlet inside the cab. I'm just guessing, those wires could go anywhere. But that's a possibility.

I finally got around to following these wires and the run under my dash and towards the driver side door. They split, and the purple on goes down towards the E brake and the other up torwards the hood release. In the pictures the one that goes into the read splice point is the one that is near the E brake.

So my theroy is that this was a bypass (to watch video while moving) for the old touchscreen head stero unit was in there.

    Thanks for any other insight..
