I found an inexpensive way to keep my seats clean without spending a lot of money on seat covers. When working construction, playing outdoors the seats would get dirty, so one day I put a towel over the drivers seat and clamped it behind the head rest. It doesnt look that great but it does the job, when I'm done I just throw the towel in the wash. It works for me.

I did the same thing. Only difference is that I put two 1/2" grommets 7" apart in the top of the towel for the headrest posts to go through.

I do the same as well, you could take your headrest off and cut two holes in your towel if your wife wont kill you. I plan on just installing two gromets in an old beach towel for this very purpose. Inexpensive, clean, temporary.
