What is the cost difference between the two?

$220 for the XII sway bar (but you need to find the components to mount it.)

$300 for the tundra racing kit

$200 for the hell wig kit.

You need to find parts to mount the XII sway bar. Its a sway bar with the bushings. Need axle mounts, end links, end link mounts, and hardware. Tundra sells their kit minus the sway bar but I forget how much.

Thanks for the info, it would be hard for me to justify anything beyond the Hellwig for my needs.

Np. The hellwig is way better than stock. If I were to go back that route I'd try getting ahold of some poly bushings. I'd leave the frame side of the end links rubber and switch out the mounts and sway bar side bushings with poly. You can see how soft the rubber is when you jack up one side of the truck.

Btw, I don't tow or off road so I have no idea how this would work for other people.

Why leave the frame side rubber with the inner side poly? Seems like that would cause some "inconsistent" compression...

Are you referring to the hellwig rear sway bar? If so, I noticed the upper set of bushings (frame side) didn't really distort at all when I jacked up the truck. The bottom ones attached to the sway bar looked like gummy candy. Made me think the same thing happens on a lesser scale while driving. Prob cause the sway bar moves a lot more than the end link. Figured nothing wrong with the upper ones being rubber so if I put the hellwig back on, I'd leave em like that til I found out otherwise.

Well, I'm convinced, after reading this thread I want a front and rear set. Driving home from a mountain road with my current set up was fun, but I had to be ginger with the steering.

My question is, I wheel often, not overly technical but I do venture off to the beaten path. Would it be better to use sways or somehow get the X-brace from the x-runner on instead.

Here's my recent Hellwig rear sway bar installed. It's night and day difference on how the truck handles. One of the best thing I ever bought for the truck. Front sway bar from Hellwig is next

Don't think I mentioned this. The front hell wig sway bar comes with what appears to be poly bushings so no need to buy energy ones. Plus, its a lot wider than the energy ones. Was messing with my front end with spindle spacers and adjustable control arms. Even chopped my factory bump stops to give me a little more room before bottoming out. Well, had the wheels off and noticed a couple scratches on the bar near where the wheel would go when turning. Don't know if its a current problem, occurred while installing parts, or during the period where I was adding and adjusting components. For the record, my front end is far from stock. But, I'm going to plastidip over those areas and check it once in a while to see if it occurs again. Don't know if it would happen on as stock truck but please keep an eye on it. The more I drive, the more I think I couldn't live without it.

sway bar if you tow and haul loads in the bed and disconnect if going off road...

as soon as I put the sway bar on, immediate total control, especially helpful when towing, really stabilizes the rear end, HUGE...

Anybody reckon quick disconnects can be done for the rear sway bar? Connected when normal driving, quick disconnect when looking to off road?
