    Hey guys,

Thought I'll post some pics of my new subwoofer box I made and installed. Made of 3/4'' MDF, 11'' wide, 12'' high from the seat, 1/2'' foam padding on the top. Makes for a great armrest for the rear passengers. Seats and seatbelts are still usable.

I'm pretty happy I was able to squeeze my 12'' subwoofer and be able to keep both back seats!

If you have any questions feel free to ask me. I am able to get the measurements if needed (Drew the box on Inventor).

If I could get the measurements that'd be great. I work on a CNC, and cut 3/4 MDF everyday. I have been brainstorming ideas, but this is awesome!! Do you know how much airspace is in it?

The box part itself is 1.35 cubic feet. I'll get the measurements for you when I get some free time.

That is way too much for me. They cost a freaking arm and leg plus I would need another amp.

That build is awesome though! You and your bro got some serious fabrication skills.

Most of the stuff I needed I already had. I only bought the fabric.
But if you want an estimate:
-half a sheet of MDF 3/4 (60$ for a full sheet)
    -10$ worth of fabric
    -screws
    -wood glue
    -silicone
    -3/8 wide weather stripping

I'd say if you don't have any of that stuff, maybe 50-60$ plus your time, tools and some wood working skills.

I already had my complete setup amp, sub and wiring that I had in my old Tacoma.

Here are some basic measurement of the box. I don't want to give the measurement of the ring that the subs gets mounted to because its relative to the sub.
I glued 2 rings of 1/2 MDF together. 12.25'' outside diameter.

Awesome thanks man! Just two more questions:
How much mounting depth did that allow for?
And How is your box being held in place? Is it wedged in there, or screwed down?

I did not measure the actual mounting depth but from my 3d drawing file, there is 9.1875'' of mounting depth. I'm guessing that's a pretty close number from what there really is.

The box is only wedged in there. I should take some pics of how it touches the back of the center console. I did not want to fix it permanently so I could remove it quickly if need be by just unpluging the wires.

Cool man, that way you can get stuff from under the seat storage as needed. Does it sound good, being a weird shape and all?

    Yep, that was the plan.
It sounds great! I'm not sure if the shape really has something to do with how it sounds in a sealed box... Being 1.35cf instead of 1.00cf, like my previous box was, really improved the sound.
