    Hello guys,

I have a 2007 4x 4 tacoma Sport and I want to change the differentials and transfer case oil.

I understand I need 3 for the front and transfer and 3 for the rear.

My questions is, since I have LSD differential, what kind of additive do I need to add?

Can I just use Red Line 75W90 Syntethic for everything? If so do I still need to add an additive?

How often do I need to change it if I use Syntethic oil?

    Thanks!

    back to bone stock.
    i use redline.

there are two types. one for LS, and one for cars without LS. you have to be perfectly sober to interpret the bottle labels. they are fun to read and decipher..if i remember correctly. edit: just looked that the website..not so sure i am correct. hmmm

just get a gallon, and one extra qt. that was enough, IIRC. <-----this is all i did. twice. no issues.

However, with your TRD OR, you don't have the mechanical limited slip differential. Running LSD additive oil in a non-LSD will not cause any issues. Most synthetic oils, however (with some individual exceptions), even with limited slip additives, cause chatter in mechanical LSDs.

I took mine to the dealer and after approx 1000 miles it started making rubbing noises while turning. I changed mine out with Valvoline dura blend 80w-90w(synthetic blend) plus 4ozs of Sta lube Equa torque fric mod. 200 miles so far so good.

When i used to change the diff oils in my old 2005 TRD Sport, i used Mobil 1 synthetic LS in 75 or 80-90. Never added any additive in any LSD i've owned unless i've used plain ole gear oil, then i'd add the small tube of additive. I use the same stuff in my transfercase too. Never any problems. Had 130k on that Taco Sport when i sold it. I changed my diff oils about every 35-40k.

    Any ford dealer stocks it
Thats all ive ever used in my 05 tacoma trd sport with lsd rear
Also buy 2 new crush washers from toyota for the fill and drain plugs
