I searched and couldn't find a thread on this, so I'm creating a thread for it. :D

Anyone up here with a little 2wd Taco do any mudding? I wanna see if there's anyone else out here that ain't afraid to do a little mud slingin' in their 2wd truck. I've got a mostly stock 2wd, and want to know how much I should expect my truck to be able to do without killing it, because I wanna be able to have a little fun when I don't have to work.
So tell me, how much can your 2wd handle? How deep/treacherous of a mud pit can your truck go through without being murdered or buried? Can I do anything with the Yoto, or should I just stick to driving through the mud puddles at the scrap yard? :(

If you've got any pics of your 2wd Taco slingin' mud, post it here!

This is all I've gotten so far, just from going in and out of the Onesteel Scrapyard. The entrance is always muddy. I make sure to steer into the deepest puddles every time. :D (They aren't that deep, and I seen the ground when it's dry, so I know there's no holes there that'd kill my truck.)

I do what I can, but i do get stuck often. I did just a couple of days ago buy new rims and some used mud tires, so that should help a little. I also never go with just one truck.

Nice! Your truck is mostly stock, isn't it? (Mine is too. :)) How deep is the mud you go through without getting stuck? I don't mind getting stuck, but I better make sure that I got someone to get me out on standby. :D

It all stock for now, but the wheels and tires. I try to go through less then 2 feet. I haven't had the chance to try out the tires I just put on, so I don't know how well they will work. I always have my friend with an fj go first then I go.

Are your new tires aggressive, or are they pretty much street tires? I've got Fuzion 16's, pretty basic street tire. When I got them, I was just looking for the cheapest of the biggest tires I could put on my truck without haftin to get a lift.
Ah, you get the FJ to scout out the territory first so you don't unwittingly plow into something you'll get stuck in, eh? :D My friend that I go "mudding" with has a stock 2wd base Ranger, so there's not much difference between how our trucks will handle it, so it's kind of a guessing game. Pray we don't get stuck, ha ha. There's also not many places to go around here. There's the scrap yard, of course, and a good muddy stretch behind the shopping center on the main road into the neighborhood. One of my other friends keeps talking about this place called Burton around here that's supposed to be pretty cool. One day I'll have to go down there when he goes. I gotta find better spots. :D

they are wild country mud tires, but the tread on the front is gone, and the back is almost gone. I tore through a grass field today and they preformed better then my old street tires, but still no mud testing. I live close to what you could call the country part of Florida, so there is a lot of dirt roads and off road trail. I have to go about 40 miles inland to get to some good mud holes though, its just a bunch of sugar sand until then. I mostly go to this place called Bolton trails. the pic of my sunken back end is from there. My friend and I both got our trucks airborne there, that was a crazy night. Do you plan on modding your truck at all, or just keeping it mostly stock?945173_10201571866482368_1814558622_n.jpg
There is my friends FJ and my truck.

I'll be keeping this one largely stock, because it is primarily a work truck. Not to mention I don't want to waste heavy duty offroading equipment on a 2wd truck. Down the road, when I'm a little better off/settled, I plan on getting another truck that will be more geared towards offroading. (I'll still be keeping Stonewall as my Daily Driver, though.) Either a 4x4 1st gen Taco or a mid eighties Hilux Pickup. The Hilux is my dream truck. Whichever one I get, it'll be done up real good. I'll put a tall lift on it, SAS if it's not already done, aggressive tires, the whole deal. But as for Stonewall, being my basic work truck and get-around vehicle, the most I'm going to do to him now is hook up a train horn to replace my wimpy little meep-meep horn that I've got now. :D I did a full motor rebuild when I got him, and that's probably the best thing I've done/will do performance-wise.

Oh, forgot to post this in this thread! [IMG]
Couple weeks ago, I decided to go his some mud holes at 2 in the morning up Behind Merchants Tires on Battlefield Blvd. Just really went to scout it out. Got a little too close to a really bad pit, back end slid in, and I was stuck. Tried to get out and couldn't, just dug deeper. Called my bud to come yank me out, got home around 4. Took this pic the next day. Tailpipe was half submerged. Had the sense to keep the truck running until it was freed.

Here it was when I got home at 4 AM:
