Shark fin?

I've noticed some of the 2nd Gen Tacos have a small fin on the roof right above the brake light while some don't. Does the fin have something to do with etuned tacos or is it just another antenna?

It is for satellite radio.I have a 2010 with it.

 

I broke mine of and they want 900 to fix the stupid thing

My 2009 has this little "fin" (but I don't know what it is):

 

Maybe all the Double cabs had the sharkfin antennae, but the Access cabs with the stock radio did not. All the 13's have the antennae.

 

Not all 13's have it. Mine doesn't.

 

That antennae is for the Xm radio, my wife's 13 Lexus has both the shark fin on top and that same antennae on the trunk. We were told it is for the XM radio, the shark fin is for the GPS on the Lexus. I believe they went to the Sharkfin for fashion, to match all the other vehicles on the market.

 

I guess I learn something new every day.

 

hmm, just looked and no fin on mine, stock radio no satalite

 

I have one on my 08 and its for the satellite radio

 

My 12 access cab has it.

 

my 12' access cab has it with the stock radio, no entune.

My 09 had the small bump style roof antenna for the Xm and my 12 has the shark fin. My 12 has both Xm and entune (GPS) system, so not sure which the antenna is for.

09 access cab, stock radio, no satellite radio, but has the bump on the roof. why would the bump/antenna be included without a way to use it?
