Let me begin by saying I know zilch about CBs. I installed one on my Tacoma and my son's Jeep for future trail and camping use. My limited knowledge is from the threads I've read here. It's a very simple set-up. It's a Uniden bearcat w/ cig lighter power supply I spliced in, 3' firestick with chassis ground (I figured it couldn't hurt to play it safe with a ground), relentless fab antenna mount only partially painted because I wanted the best contact possible, simple roadpro external speaker I made a cover and mount for, and lastly, a 5" PA speaker for shits and giggles. Next is tuning and checking the SWR which I still need to read up on. Input welcome. Cheers!

Nice Keith, on your antenna install, you dont need the ground wire as the bracket that is bolted to the bed frame post is well ground.

That's a good place for the antenna ground wire is a bit of overkill but won't hurt a thing as it's short don't buy in to the ground plane thing there is plenty there, it is far better then against the cab. The lighter outlet is fine for the amount of power a CB draws but it has a tendency to pickup noise so if that is a problem you'll know where to look.
