He's got the FX-R... 4 screws with a hogged-out reflector. There is no rotational adjustment.

My cut-off steps merge around 40 feet or so. Would you all mess with that, or just leave it alone? Trying to decide if it's worth trying to adjust them. So basically, when I drive up to a fence or see them on a building about that far away, it looks like one big cut-off.

I eventually want to aim them. They are about 2" lower at maybe 12' than the halogens were aimed (of course, the front of the truck was lifted by just shy of an inch, so they probably needed to come down slightly anyway). Got my laser level back yesterday, so planned on using that to aim them.

    http://www.amazon.com/Strait-Line-6...01409&sr=1-4&keywords=strait-line+laser+level

Is there any way to use this thing to do it? I wanted to set it flat on the radiator shield and level it out, but it looks like it would shoot a vertical beam, if I did that. Really need a horizontal beam.

Go check out hidplanet and read on aiming tips I think you're thinking it way too deep haha as long as you are happy with the light output and it's not in people's faces then you're fine

Lol, you're right, I'm a nerd like that though...

Haven't been flashed yet, so that's good. It seems to sit well below the side mirrors on cars in front of me too.

Everywhere I've read says to use JB Weld. The silicone can cause moisture issues, or maybe out-gassing issues when you rebake. I could see why you'd want to use silicone though, if they ever went out, it would be a lot easier to replace, of course, that requires baking...again...

I'll do some more reading but baking was actually extremely easy and quick. My worst fear was having fogging and having to re-open them but it took me 20 min of baking and 5 min of prying with a screwdriver and I have both my lights open with no mess now.

Man guy, after getting my first chip on my window yesterday, got it repaired.
Now there is a scar forever on my windshield..... It is right in the middle too.

Now I don't have any mood to retrofit anymore :(

Lol, sorry to hear. I just looked at my housings. Been on the truck a full 4 days, and already have a nice scar on the front of the passenger one from a rock. Is it just me, or do the housings on these trucks have rock magnets in them? Geez.

Yeah, I was most nervous about that part, while they were in the oven. Turned out to be one of the easy parts, but baking and getting them back together wasn't that fun.

That's not too bad. By the time the right side of the fence on the passenger light crosses into oncoming traffic it'll be a couple of hundred feet out and not bright enough to pose a problem.

My d2s is aimed a little off. At least your high beams probably cycle properly too. I am impressed with the output and how much better it is compared to stock

I tried using a friends tAcoma to get his factory halogen cut off.
But all I see is just 1 straight line on my garage door. There wasn't a "step" or anything........

Post up pics and we might be able to help you a little more, stock halogens wont have a cutoff but more of a hot spot where more light is focused

I was able to see a step on mine, but it was very faint, and I was a lot closer than 20' away.
