Wanted to share my adventure with ya'll that I had this weekend. Went camping this weekend to do some off-roading and dirt bike riding. The weekend was going great until my roommate had a clever idea going off in the middle of the night by himself. Well, he didn't make it too far up Sycamore creek when things went sideways. He was unable to gauge the depth of the water and sunk the truck.

The good news is after swapping out the plugs and oil, the truck fired right up.

With how deep the intake side was in the water, he is so lucky he didn't hydrolock. He must have came with a cm of doing so. Funny how the recovery guy said it was hydrolocked.

I don't know how to take this video...

Are you looking for recognition or criticism?

I saw so much go wrong with the attempted recover and the actual recovery. Check everything on your rear axle! The sideways snatch attempt looked horrific. There's got to be something wrong somewhere, wheel bearing, leaf springs, shackles, shocks... hell, check your front and rear diff's for water or chocolate milk. I'd say if the truck started you're lucky but seriously go to a 4x4 school to learn how to recover a vehicle. Even the tow truck winching you out, I saw so much that could have gone wrong. Just because you got a 4x4 that'll winch doesn't mean you know what you're doing.
