So when you pulled the transfer case out of the 4runner it did not have the button already installed on the shifter handle?

Okay I see now. Just have to get the shifter knob with the button in it and plug all the electronics in.

The way to tell is if the tcase has an electronic actuator on it or none.

If there is a small electric motor then you need the button. If not then your is a jshift.

Was a PreRunner, now it isn't
let me know if you need help wiring that up. I have done my conversion with a electronic tcase from a 4runner. Being a converted prerunner you can actually utilize a twin stick option of being in 2 low.
