Sway Bar end links cracked and leaking grease?

where the sway bar end link meets my upper control arm, the boot or whatever it is has cracked and grease is mushed around that area.

Something to ignore or something to replace

 

Just take the sway bar off then you wont have to worry about it. I would Eventually replace them but it is not huge must right away.

 

Ive been looking through the forums at this issue and why is it that alot of people say to take the sway bar off?

 

How does this affect the daily ride of the truck?

 

More body roll.

 

Does it soften the ride of a lifted truck? In other words, will the ride of the truck not be as stiff if it is off?

 

I busted one of these boots 2 years ago, leaked a bunch of grease. No issues yet haven't bothered replacing it. I too have been considering removing my sway bar as well.

Don't take the sway bar off for street use. Rapid lane change can roll the truck. (A sway bar-equipped truck won't necessarily grip any better, but will slide out rather than lift the inside wheels.)
