I found a 1996 Toyota extended cab[IMG] pickup and in the stripe on the side it says Super Sport. I can't find anything about it on line and the used car 'stealer' said it is 'Factory'. Was this some little known option in 96 for the extended cab or is that really smoke I feel blowing up my &%$?

I dont think its anything that Toyota came out with but maybe a dealer did it as a "dealer package" to increase the sticker price.

Be pretty shocked if Super Stock wasn't trademarked by GM.

Wrote it wrong on the reply, messed up the edit. I'll blame the wine, it can't be my fault.

    best wheel bearings around! www.marionbumper2bumper.com
What you are looking at is an added "decal". That Super Sport decal signature was around I think in the late 90s. you could buy them in any auto parts store back then.

Yeah inform that dealership that you are more knowledgeable than that.

The only limited package on a 5-lugger that I am aware of was the SST, and that says SST on the bedside.

It looks like a clean, good looking 5-lugger from the pictures though.

What probably happened is that the quarter panel got repainted at one time and they couldnt get just that portion of the sticker kit from Toyota and didnt want to pay for a complete sticker kit. So the next alternative was to fill the area with another decal and call it good.

Classic!!! I've actually came across a truck where it had the v8 emblem on the front fenders popped the hood to find a 4.3l v6 under it... The salesman tried telling me it was a 5.3... Till I showed him what I already knew... They must not have even checked it out just put it right on the lot

I did the same thing with a newer camaro. Was on the used lot and saw that it had the Transformer edition badge on the outside. Got excited and jumped in and noticed there was nothing else on it that the package should have came with. I informed the sales guy and he was just as surprised (and shocked that I knew lol). I think they were honest about it though because I didn't see it on the lot the next day. Probably took it to pull the badges off or sent it back to whoever they got it from before for false advertisement.
