1360 pounds payload. That's what Toyota says, that's what my truck says. Let's give them any benefit and say that included the driver and any optional gear. OK, subtracting that, I get 960 pounds.

This truck absolutely cannot handle 960 pounds. I doubt it can handle another 300 without bottoming out. Beyond ridiculous. My old 96 Nissan, which I am beginning to regret having gotten rid of more and more, had the heavy spring package in the back and legitimately took 1000 pound payloads plus me, no problem at all. The back springs are shit. I thank those who have posted aftermarket links, because that's where this is going next for me.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
my 2012 was the worst, it bottomed out on the bumps in town with a transmission in the bed w56(with transfer) and me driving..

as promised, this is the "topgun" add-a-leaf

so far its the only one i have had that has held up well with the 2 leaf plus overload pack. These leaves are the same length front to back, not off-center like some others, and they fit just inside the clamps on the factory leaf pack

and this is the fabtech version, about 2 inches shorter mostly on one end, they did not perform as well in any way

Guys, honestly, I put a 500 lb motorcycle in the bed after a few months of having my truck, was riding bumps almost the whole way. I really think the whole '1360' payload includes bed weight as well lol. so really, you're probably looking at a realistic payload of around 500 tops. (Including yourself)

I agree the "1360" is a joke, But With it being 4800 miles off the lot ill use the warranty and upgrade on my dime later.

Well. You only get one set of TSB springs. I was still under warranty and they refused to give me a second set. Even after I walked out to truck, with the master tech "Sir I don't understand, there isn't really a harsh ride", I proceed to step up on my bumper and bounce the tail onto the bump stops in my unloaded bed. He just nodded and shut up lol. Then, we called Toyota Warranty up and they said they wouldn't warranty a second time. Even though the Dealership said they'd do the work.

Pre-paid maintenance is up now, no more reason to go to the dealer unless drivetrain/engine breaks :D

First mistake was probably buying a truck expecting to actually put things in it. Isn't a bed just more of a fashion statement now?

My 2011 has the 3 pack and I'm considering looking into having the 4 pack put on. Only thing stopping me is I only have 3 inches of clearance to get into my garage with my cap on. Can anyone tell me how much the truck might raise?

FYI i just bought yesterday a 2013 TRD off road v6 auto DCSB and it has the 2 leaf + overload pack

I do notice some drive line vibs at 0-10mph as well when getting on it... probably due to axle wrap.

Question is do i see if my dealer will put the 3+overload spring pack on or wait.

Something is a miss in toyota truck builds. When looking for a 13 DC SR5 with tow pak, I came across new DC SR5's w/ tow pak on the lot that only had 3 leaf packs.! Those trucks even looked under sprung. I read into this dillema before i bought mine, so i knew what to look for. The operators on the tacoma line that month must have too many shots of saki or jaeger for lunch.

I thought I read somewhere that mid-late 2011 they actually came out with a heavier 3 pack. Maybe that was just BS, I haven't heard anything about 2012+ TSB's yet. I might just be behind the times though, could care less about anything after my 2011 :D

I have a 2013 DCSB TRD Sport with 11,500 miles on it. Told the dealer during this past ToyotaCare maintenance visit that I had a vibe in the steering wheel as well as vibe when braking. I was there from 7:00am - 10:30am for the oil change and for them to look in to those two vibration items. He told me they had to re-index the tires on the front wheels in order to take out that vibration by way of placing 600 pounds of pressure on them while turning the wheel on an under-inflated tire (approx. 8-9 psi). I'd never heard of this before and thought, 600 pounds on a tire inflated to only 8-9 psi, this just doesn't make any sense. Anyway, then they rotated the tires...and told me there is no vibration in the steering wheel anymore. They were right...now there is a shimmy in the rear! Took it back in the next day, they gave me a loaner and just called back to say there is a TSB for the leaf springs and they are going to replace an engine mount? Wow, okay, well, I sure hope they are just doing their due diligence, because this Tacoma lover is pretty frustrated.
