2014 new silver color Silver Sky Metallic

Looks like the Silver Streak Mica color from previous years is no longer available for 2014. It was replaced by the Silver Sky Metallic. Looks to be a little darker shade. Has another here purchased a 2014 in this color that they have pictures they can post? My local dealership does not have any in stock yet.

The Silver Streak Mica was very popular for so long. What does everyone think of the new color?

 

I had an 06 Tundra silver sky metallic.
I think Toyota used it on both 1GEN & 2GEN tundras.
www.toyotareference shows all the paint codes through the years.
It was a great color on my 06 yes a little darker haven't seen one on the lots yet. Maybe someone here has scooped one up!

So no one has pictures of this new color or thoughts about it. Debating if I should purchase this new color. I guess I'll have to wait until I can see in person

 

A dealer near me has this posted on cars.com. From the pictures, it doesn't look that much different from the Silver Mica it replaced?

to me its noticeabley darker. i think my ssm is too light or shiny at times so that looks really good

It's noticeably darker and much nicer looking than the previous silver. I like it a lot.

 

Looks like the thundercloud metallic I had on my 2002 4Runner sport. I like it a lot.

 

I ordered one in the new silver, supposed to be here within the week. I can post photos once it's in.

 

I actually picked up the 2014 with that color I can tell you it is a shade darker especially at night you can see it is darker ill post up pics of it later tonight

 

I'm glad they used the same alliteration, so that differentiating between two SSMs is impossible unless you spell it out entirely.

Awesome....thanks guys! I love my silver streak mica but thinking of trading in my 2011 TRD OR DCSB and picking up a TRD sport in this new silver sky. I think I will like the darker shade. Does it have any metal flake like the silver streak mica?

 

from what i can see it does but it is getting dark and it's due for its first wash

it had factory tint in the rears and rear windows i just tinted the fronts yesterday. Now trying to figure out what body lift to do next week and which style of rims to go on ...i'm one of those guys that never leaves their car stock i start to mod right away lol

 

I know the feeling. What % tint did you put on the front windows. I think I did 20% on my current Tacoma to match the back windows.

 

saw a double cab TRD with a nice lift today... and it is an awesome color! not as dark as magnetic grey but not as bland as the old silver. looks amazing in person!

 

Traded in my 2010 TRD Sport 4x4 SSM for a 2014 TRD Sport 4x4 SSM about two weeks ago. This is my third Tacoma. Love these trucks. Here's a face-to-face shot, you can see the new color is definitely darker.
