Who is on a high horse here? At least I don't call other Tacoma owners "morons".

Sad that information posting has to pass through the anti 2009+ Off Road 4WD groupie gauntlet!

with saying the owners that dont buy an OR are misinformed and unknowledgeable is calling them morons in a way that you think they wouldnt understand. you sit on a high hourse so that you can see over the sport owners skewpz. there's a difference in informing people of a system in one topic or pointing them to it and bashing everyone that doesnt own an OR and filling your quota of atating ATRAC at least 10 times a day on here.

how's that fake chrome grille holding up? that give you an ATRAC boost?

and also keep the political to yourself as well...it's getting deleted. i guess you can call that....supression of people disregarding the site rules.

Nobody is making anyone read posts here...

I see all sorts of profanity on this forum, but that is okay, huh? The F word stays on TW, but mention a political committee, and that is deleted!? Wow.

Funny... I mean nobody any harm, and my comments on the scoop, etc. were supposed to be taken lightly... and I am big enough to apologize and back off this sore subject for some of you. So, how about backing off from soiling my posts repeatedly? Is Tacoma World really for ALL Tacoma owners? Public discussion forum or not? If I read something I don't like, I can move on... but to hang around and cry because I like my Tacoma's features is a bit pathetic.

Christian, this is a discussion forum... I don't see copying stuff from Toyota.com as discussing anything... but it does varify the facts about the TRD packages.

Now, unless I tell someone here something false, I don't know why you and the couple of others can't just let me and the person I am talking to have a discussion. I am trying to lighten up on the hood scoop part, maybe you guys could stop shadowing me for no other reason than to harass. I do welcome corrections, but to make fun of a Toyota system that works so well (A-TRAC and TRAC) only to get a rise out of me, seems counter-productive to helping others or just maintaing a friendly atmosphere. Again, there is no "bashing" of Sport TRDs by pointing out what they do or don't have compared to Off Road TRDs... okay? Even in posts where I never mention a Sport, but only talk about the Off Road's features, there is the distacting comebacks... If I don't 'bash' your posts, how about not bashing mine, deal?

A final time: I don't hate Sport Tacos, I just like Off Road Tacos better and if people are not aware of the Off Road's standard equipment, lets help them with the truth.

The 4WD Sport and the 4WD Off Road are both SR-5 Tacomas, then the changes go from there: Sport has things that appeal to the eye of some buyers and Off Road has traction systems that appeal to off roading folks.

They are both GREAT trucks, because they are both Tacomas!

Chrome looks bad on a truck imo. I would much rather pay some extra $$ for color matched.

Is there a difference between the rear shocks on a TRD Sport and a TRD Off Road?

Also is there a difference between the rear leafs on a TRD Sport and a TRD Off Road?

delta is the change or difference in something.

personally i would have bought an OR instead of a sport if they had made it in a DCLB version. i still don't understand why toyota limits you in this way. but since i don't offroad anymore (which is why i traded in my rubicon with dual lockers for my tacoma) i'm just fine with the sport. if i really wanted to, i'd just throw an arb in the rear and call it good.

It's because their locker is weak, and the extra weight of the long bed would cause it to fail.

It's because of the extra foot of wheelbase

In my quest for information, I found this thread and apologize for the resurrection. I have found a local 2006 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner TRD Sport (Double Cab, Short Bed) with 38k miles, they are asking $21,997, based off of my research (kbb.com) it shows it as a "fair deal". I haven't checked it out in person yet, but intend to later today. The pictures I've seen show it to be very clean and free from any noticeable dents or scratches.

Is $21997 too much for this thing?

^ Nevermind. I went to check it out today and saw rust galore! I guess it was originally bought in Illinois, then was in Texas for awhile, and the stealership acquired it from an auction in Texas.

    Check these pix I snapped.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
right, that looks like it was never washed...

My reason for buying the off road vs sport was 16in tires are a little cheaper than 17s.
