Obviously this type of thing is subjective (to each there own) however if you must know the paint on my roof started to crack and painting it is ultra expensive! Thanks for your opinion.

I'd like to see a pic from the back of the truck...just curious how far down the back u carried the vinyl, or did you just cut it above the back window?

I think it's a legit alternative to repainting, until your able to spring for a paint job. I'm giving my old 97 Z71 to my daughter, and I have some clear coat blistering on the roof. I plan to see if I can just have it sanded and re-cleared, but have been thinking about going this route (not stainless per say) if they say the paint has been effected.

Yes I agree! def. costed me a 10th of the price of a paint job. I will eventually repaint the whole truck I'm just buying me some time for now.

Thank you sir! Figured the super whites get a lot of props on the blk roofs and all I did was do something different by going with brushed stainless for contrast and the look of the roof being made of stainless steel.

looks cool to me,did you remove the rain channel strips..and what about wind and rain...will it lift from the front above the wind shield when subjected to driving conditions...i wanted to get my roof painted flat black, but the painter said he couldn't do it unless he removed the windshield to get the paint under the gasket..if i could be sure the vinal would stay on i'd do it.

I was guaranteed it wouldn't lift or bubble up regardless of the elements its exposed to. This stuff is incredibly strong and I did not remove any of the weather channels or strips, just tucked in really good and looks seamless! I highly recommend this method if you don't need a paint job.

The brushed stainless is interesting, did my silver '12 Taco's roof in carbon fiber wrap, I like it. (pics in my album)

One thing of note for some looking to cover things up, it does not level out to hide surface imperfections.

Sign place that did my truck had a van that the paint had been faking off on, they had carbon fiber wrapped the hood. Despite the wrap you could clearly make out the outline underneath where the paint had been peeling.

As long as the surface is smooth it will cover lots of 'sins' but if uneven do not expect miracles.

I'm on the fence about it. I can't make a decision right now.

    Roof is nice.

Let us know how it is driving into the Sun after you do the hood.

You know thats a damn good point! I'm glad you thought about this, seriously gonna think this through now. I'm sure it would create some gnarly glare. I wonder if it would be as bad as white trucks or less...?

I think it looks good on the roof but the glare would be a problem on the hood. Who makes the vinyl? I've never seen that before. Did you put it on the roof? How long did it take? I wonder if I could do my rockers with it, and if it would prevent rock chips.
