Fully locked is best, but a rear locker won't break CV's like a front locker possibly can, and the rear locker doesn't lock the steering wheels.

I'm planning on going locked all around, so i can have max traction for when i'm wheeling by myself, i also plan on having a winch, and a come-a-long, and snatch straps.

    Short answer: IMO Yes.

so my best bet is to swap my rear axle and change to 410 gears in the front?
what are some aftermarket locking diffs?

You could put a ARB air locker in the back and keep your stock gearing so you dont have to mess with the front.

Or you could do elocker rear, ARB front with regear.

You want a selectable locker (ARB is basically the only choice) up front since You have auto hubs.

    Hold on a minute..

the Elocker axle is off the prerunner yes? With the 3.91 gears?

and the new 4x4 has 4.10s?

then you need 4.10s for the rear e locker. THe front already has 4.10s.

I thought he's saying that his truck has 3.91's and the donor has 4.10's?

When in doubt, measure your actual ratio and be sure. It's not hard.
Google "measure rear diff ratio" and take your pick from YouTube videos to write ups. If you don't know it's history, you don't know.

well..no 4x4 came with 3.91s either..this is where im confused..4.10s were standard for all 4x4s with the 4 bangers getting 4.30s for manuals and 4.56s for auto generally speaking..

Here's you're issue. If you have a prerunner, you're not 4x4 so you don't have a front diff...

If that is true, don't worry about regearing anything in the front because there's nothing there to regear.
