See my build thread in my signature

Those are to the factory mounting holes on the cab I personally am getting them converted to weld ons but if someone is just using them as steps then they work fine and arent ugly like most factory steps are plus they prevent door dings :)

I was just wondering. I originally was looking for bolt to the frame sliders but Avids bolt on ones were to the body. I was just wondering if they changed them. I got bolt on sliders but decided to weld them on.

avids bolt on step sliders have never bolted to the body, they bolt to the frame.

avids bolt on sliders are for steps only, even if they are welded to the frame they will not support the weight of the truck as they only have 2 legs connecting to the frame.

avids weld on sliders are legit sliders, lifts my truck easily with the high lift, with no flex.

Please read the quote from there page below. The running board mounts are on the body for the 05+ models.
    https://avidoffroad.infusionsoft.com/app/storeFront/showProductDetail?productId=85

"They simply bolt into the factory running board mounts. Because of the mounting location, these sliders are not intended to support the weight of the truck but can be used as steps, dent protection, and light off-roading. "

Another vote for Jerry at BAMF. Order his sliders with gussets and you should be good to go.

I had a set of Demello Square tube sliders on my 96 tacoma many many years ago. I bought them used.

I had them welded to angle-iron and stitch welded to the frame in 3 spots. They were frigin awesome. I used them to jack up the truck to change tires....
(God, I miss that truck and the old days)

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
Me too, don't know why, but they are always intriguing.

I went with Adam at 4Xinnovations for step sliders. I wanted bolt on so I could remove them every couple of years to check and treat for rust here in the rust belt plus painting the sliders, sandblasting if needed. His are normally 10 degree offset but no problem or charge for 0 degree which I did. The dog needs a little help getting into the back seeing how he is getting old so I wanted the assistance of steps for him. And protection from trees on lateral slides in the woods. Used expanded steel for filler which I asked to be recessed just below the topline for strength and snow\mud\water drainage, it was a $100 up charge and WELL worth it IMO. They turned out great.

Took 3 weeks from contact to delivery. Have a friend that is going to sandblast then shoot them with 2K epoxy primer with flex agent then top coat with Hammerite black hammered paint, so they aren't even on the truck yet. Been waiting on Brandon at Avid to get back on my RBG and custom light bar which was ordered at the same time, wanted to do everything in one shot. But at this rate going to have to just go ahead with the sliders so I can get them on.

You should consider getting them shot with Line-X. I paid $80 to get mine sprayed and they have a lifetime warranty. If I scrape it off, they'll respray for free. They look tough and have "built in" grip.
