Just How Good is Engine Immobilizer?

    Short of a wrecker (or carjacking) - how good is this system? How can you tell if a newer model is equipped?

    2005+ V6 has it equipped. If you look at the dash without the key in the ignition, you'll see the light below flash (key outlined by a car).

    The short answer is this: ALL 4 CYLINDERS MODELS= NO IMMOBLIZER. ALL V-6 MODELS = HAVE THE IMMOBLIZER.

    mostly stock
    I would like to get rid of mine. It is a point of failure and I often end up in places that you can't walk out of if my truck doesn't start. The immobilizer is "good" enough that the factory TRD race team can't defeat it.
