Hey Everyone. I've been lurking on here since before I owned a Tacoma. I finally pulled the trigger and got a nice 07.

I've been wanting to get black rims for it, but decided to do them myself.

Still have the other two to do, along with the badges and maybe a few other small pieces. I'll keep you guys updated and post pictures when i'm done.

Thanks for making this such a cool community.

    Thanks everyone.
Like I said I would, here are a few pics of the wheels back on, the windows tinted, and the emblems plastidiped. The first picture makes the windows look really dark. They are 20% and 35% so actually not too dark. Just enough for me.

    Thanks guys!
Yes I agree, these wheels do look surprisingly good blacked out. It made a huge difference in the overall appearance of the truck.

Glad you guys like it, and I'm looking forward to being a part of this community now.

What did you use on your wheels? They look nice! I was thinking about plastidipping my stock wheels, chrome bumper, front chrome grille, front Toyota emblem and all/most badges on my Indigo Ink '08 Access cab TRD...and removing the TRD stickers on the rear quarter panels. How many cans do you think it would it take? How long will that last? Or, should I just powder coat them in black? Not a big fan of chrome at all...makes the truck look like a freakin' chevy or ford (notice I didn't capitalize those names?) Anyone have any sway either way/ advice on removing the big ass TRD stickers and blacking out/removing the badges? Dip the wheels or spend the $ to powder coat them? Any photos you can share would help. Thanks! Nice to be here!

Hey, I plastidipped the wheels. It takes about one can per wheel. I bought 4 cans, did the four wheels, side and back badges and have a little left over. Not much pret required becides cleaning the wheel with alcohol. There is a good thread on here with all the info. And plenty of youtube videos from dip your car.
I agree about the chrome. Looks much better blacked out.
I havnt removed my trd stickers but I think they would come off with a hear gun and some patience.
Post up some pics once you get er' all done.
