    Hello everybody.
Please don't criticize too much my humble attempt...

I have seen many post from different forums how people hack and splice the cables... I did not like this idea. I like to keep everything look as factory original as possible.
I decided to build a cable harness to connect the mirror to the existing connector which was unused in my truck.
This what you need if you want to do what I did:
    1. Obviously a mirror.:)
I got the mirror from E-bay:

2.Crimp tool such as this one:

    3. Source for wires with correct connector terminals.
I got this pile of wires for Toyota Camry long time ago for almost free from local junk yard.

    4. I was lucky and I had this little cable there:

If some one wants to get it, here it is:

You need only right side of this cable.
    5. I found five wires for my cable from the big pile and put them together:

    6. I did not know if mirror will have the connector so I got the connector housing here http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en?lang=en&site=us&KeyWords=455-1181-ND&x=19&y=11
    and connector terminals

I did not need the connector housing. It happened that mirror came with it. I used black original housing and crimped all those terminals to the wires I prepared.

For the mirror without temperature you need only two wires in the harness. If someone wants to use temp, it requires four wires but I used five just in case if I want to connect pin 3 to reverse light. I ended up not using the fifth wire.
I did not have the temp sensor and harness in my truck so I made another cable running from the front of radiator to the under steering wheel junction box. to 1C connector pin 1 and 3.
I'm very happy with my mirror. It has working compass also but I don't care. I like auto dimming and temperature.
This is probably cheap alternative to upper display console, which is out of my consideration for the price.
