thanks, it was my first real, self made, fabrication mod to the truck. Happy with the results considering i am a perfectionist!

I was skeptical, but i kept all my OEM parts, I bought a satoche nav blank plastic piece and i cut that. up. Nothing else changed in the truck other than a little bit of wire work!

FYI - many states including California do not allow that video device to be in view of the driver.

You can see the exceptions and the California law at this link

Neither does Kansas and I received a ticket from the highway patrol for just the same thing.

Nice, Good idea to use teh iPad. back in the day (2001) or so when I first got my license, it was rare that anyone had entertainment like we have now. I remember some guys I knew having a 13" TV in the back of an SUV we played PS1 on in the parking lot. I got my first 4.5" LCD later that year and everyone was amazed, even though it was a pretty bad lcd by todays standards. Now we have an aluminum/glass sheet that can do 5000 times more tasks and carry everything we could ever want! and it's touch screen. technology is nuts.

Is the whole parking-brake lockout enough to be legal? I have it hooked up on my head unit to be "legalized" but have a defeat switch.

How did you wire it up? Looks great.

Edit: Did you just hook it up via USB and play the music through bluetooth ?

when initially designed it I intended to keep the contour but as I was fabricating and applying heat, bondo, and a decent amount of pressure, i ended up loosing some if the couture. But it doesn't bother me. The iPad would sit in the same position regardless of the contour because of its size. It turned out perfect though.

No i was planning on going a simple single volume knob, with an audio control LC6 but the way my truck is set up with 2 amps in the back i ended up going with the audio control Three.2. I wasn't fond of the extra knobs on the dash but it ended up giving me more control and an additional aux connection. I also wired up an iStreamer to improve sound quality and be able to charge at the same time. Did a lot of research on SoundMan.com. Huge shoutout to him and his work
