Tint, De-badged. Soon to come. 3" front leveling kit, 265/75/r16 on mickey Thompson classic 3 in black
Noticed today when hauling some weight 350-400 pounds the rear was sagging rather much.. Is this normal. I know there was a TSB on the 2011 and older 2nd gens, I'm a ford tech so I know about the suspension on trucks.

Has ANYONE had toyota replace the springs? Could I talk them into giving me a 4 leaf pack and not a 3? Is a DC TRD 4x4 with bilstein 5100s set at 1.75" and it for what ever reason sits once high by an inch, not terrible but it's noticeable now with weight in the rear.

Any info would help. Or any other leafs I can add to get 1" back

Can't really answer your questions on the springs BUT the air bags are a huge help if you have a heavy load a lot or heavy trailer. Just search ride rite to find the threads.

    2 X Adults 150 lbs each = 300 lbs
    2 X Kids say 50 lbs each = 100 lbs
    2 X 25 lb dogs 50 lbs

    300 + 100 + 50 +700 = 1150 lbs On top of that add fuel oil coolant etc.

I think people need to remember it is a light duty truck.

It was not designed to haul 1000 lbs all day long.

Yes it can do it once a month and may look funny. But if you are going to have a load all the time you need to upgrade something.

I got that air bags and they make a world of difference.

In summer I have a 300 lbs shell, 100 lbs rack and 500 lbs of work tools and gear every day. And once a week or two my dumper trailer when loaded with 3000 of dirt ends up being 5000-5500 lbs with 500 lbs tongue weight. With all that shit the airbags are a must.

i have the same truck with 5100s at .85" minus the TRD and mine sags with a few hundred pounds also. I also tow a 3000lb boat/trailer which makes my truck sag a lot. My air bags are coming in tomorrow. there is no TSB so you have go find another way to fix it

Math is a little off ..

    driver 220
    one adult 150
    one adult 110
    one 12 year old 85
    one 15 year old 100
    2 dogs 30 lbs each 60
Fuel at 1/2 tank (never fill it) 6 lbs x 10.5 = 63 (but this really depends on a few variables)

Thats 788 lbs. It doesnt really matter whether its a heavy duty or medium duty. What matters is what Toyota says the payload is and thats 1300 lbs.

Ive owned 1 F150, 1 Silverado, lost count of the Rams Ive owned and 1 Frontier. I've towed 2 different travel trailers .. often pull either of my 2 motorcycles, a Wing and a VTX, on a flatbed 5x10 to the mechanic. Cant even come up with other items such as furniture, dirt, mulch etc etc etc that Ive hauled or towed. I use all my trucks as trucks not status symbol grocery getters. Out of all, including the Nissan, the trucks Ive owned, the Toyota is the worst with respect to this specific topic.

I dont bash. All vehicles have their pros and cons. This is clearly a con of the Tacoma.

My misunderstanding, I thought the 700 lbs was gear etc... The reasoning behind the soft springs IMO is for the better ride. I do agree that a truck should be able to be used as such.

Air bags or AAL is the best answer.
